Join us on the Cashiers Historical Society grounds where six glamping tents, designed by renowned designers, will represent the 2021 Showhouse!
CHS has created a narrative of design since 1998. However, the recent real estate boom on the plateau left them in a unique situation this year; no homes were available for a fall Showhouse event. This required a fresh look at what “home” is for 2021. Always ready to jump at the opportunity to think outside of the box, they decided to capitalize on one of the most popular installments in the 2020 Showhouse and go glamping! With a theme of “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” they’re using the 2021 Showhouse to highlight not just what makes Cashiers luxurious in a house but their natural resources as well.
In addition to an exciting collection of luxurious glamping tents, the two-week event will also include a curated selection of shopping vendors, workshops, panel discussions, single-day events, an artist residency by Brevard visual artist and musician Shannon Whitworth, tours of the protected buildings on the CHS campus, and so much more! They are also working with stewardship partners including the Blue Ridge Bartram Trail Conservancy, Duke Energy, Highlands Audubon Society, Highlands Biological Foundation, Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust, The Ruffed Grouse Society, Trout Unlimited, and Witherspoon Platt + Associates. Cashiers is their home and where their heart is, and they want to provide a platform to talk about how to prepare it for future generations, both luxuriously and responsibly.
